Guide to Booking Wedding Bands Scotland
We put together a small guide covering some of the things you need to consider once you have chosen a wedding band in Scotland .
1. Will the venue allow the use of a live wedding band?
Although this may seem obvious, you should check with your wedding venue that they are happy to have a live wedding band perform at your reception. Sometimes the venue may be sharing facilities with other businesses and they can often place limitations on noise levels. Usually a hotel will be fine but it's a good idea to check beforehand. It's also advisable to acquire a contact name and number at the venue in case there are specific instructions for the band to gain access to the venue.
Most wedding bands Scotland will normally play for around 3 hours inside of a four hour period. Our contracted times are between 8pm-12am unless otherwise agreed. If in the event the meal and wedding speeches are running behind schedule the contracted finish time will still apply, however the wedding band might be happy to play past midnight for a small additional fee.
3. Check with the band about the time they need to arrive
A typical wedding band Scotland would usually arrive 60 mins before their contracted start time. This would allow the band ample time to load in their equipment and set up the stage and sound system. If you need your band to arrive earlier please check with them before as there my be additional costs involved if we need to arrive earlier
4. Easy access to the wedding reception room.
For health and safety reasons a Scottish wedding band will need to gain easy access to the function room to move their PA and instruments. You should check with the venue that there are no limitations that may impede the wedding band to gain access. If an elevator is required it would be crucial the band can have exclusive use of the lift for around 30 mins. Most venues are straightforward and easy enough but there are some venues particularly in Glasgow city centre where extra time is needed, so the band will need to be aware of this.
5. Wedding Band Scotland Requirements
Normally Scottish wedding bands will appreciate food and drink being provided, especially if is a large distance to travel. It can be a long day for the band if the venue is further afield in Scotland and not nearby Glasgow or Edinburgh. If the band has to travel to Aberdeen unload equipment, set up and perform for 4 hours with no access to food, they wont be on top form! Wedding bands Scotland will normally have access to the buffet later in the evening.
